Failed To Open /etc/samba/private/secrets.tdb

I've reinstalled Samba 4, ditched the old smb.conf file and are now trying to get it working again starting from the default Samba 4 smb.conf file. Before i had to leave work, i was still not able to log in to a test share with smbclient. Obviously this problem arised after a upgrade to 14.04, the question is if there is a way to get it working again. How smart is the original Ridley Scott Xenomorph really?
