Kudos to you! Clearly the Apple Bonjour/zeroconf, that you mentioned, is the most robust method since these shares always show up. Now I can access my NAS drive better.
It's odd that all the Win PC's and NAS drives were visible from the out of the box 9.10 install.... I then proceeded to assign static addressing and loaded updates, Then I couldn't see the windows machines anymore. I ran into this issue a couple years back on Ubuntu 8.1 or something like that, and I never could find out what I needed to configure.My second problem is that When I click on the icon, eventually, this message appears - Unable to mount location- Failed to retrieve share list from serverI did have this unit working some time ago under

I browsed through and accessed the "Public" folder. I did not want to learn "command line" And any time that I had to do command line, I would just go back to windows. sudo gedit /etc/samba/smb.conf Finally, scroll down a bit in the file and find : WORKGROUP = Workgroup_Name.
