I have done all the right things to make Win7 files visible across the network but every time I try to access files from the XP, I am prompted to login. Windows Xp No Security Tab The simple file sharing already enable. if you are the only person (or if there is only one person and one user account) using each computer on the LAN, you can setup "automatic login" on both machines.
